Between two confinements, his "kid's dream" came true.
Mehdi Kerkouche, choreographer from the world of hip-hop, is invited to enter dance through the front door, with a creation at the Paris Opera.
During the first confinement, the choreographer was able to make himself known to the general public thanks to a video that had caused a sensation, seen more than a million times on Instagram.
Mehdi Kerkouche coordinated his dancers from a distance in a frenzied staging hailed for its grace and ingenuity.
The dream continues for the artist and his troupe, even if the second confinement has stopped short, for the moment, the shows in front of an audience in the prestigious house where the premiere was to occur on November 10.
The performance will take place virtually.
But the 34-year-old artist does not lose his cheeky and enthusiastic side for all that.
“Even if it's heartbreaking, we're going 400%,” says the choreographer.
Rehearsals continue at the Palais Garnier, ahead of the recording, which will be broadcast live on Facebook on November 13.
