A 42-year-old Corona patient was hospitalized in critical condition at Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer after her condition worsened.

The woman, who was in an advanced stage of pregnancy, had to undergo emergency caesarean section.

The baby is in good condition.

The woman, who is in her third birth, was hospitalized following a respiratory deterioration she experienced following the virus.

She is anesthetized and resuscitated in the intensive care unit and her condition is stable.

A similar incident occurred last April, when a 27-year-old corona patient gave birth by caesarean section in the 32nd week of her pregnancy, after her condition deteriorated and she felt respiratory distress.

In September, a study was published at Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva, which found that women who gave birth from March to June this year gave birth with fewer birth interventions. In addition, in those months there was a decrease of almost 3% in the rate of preterm births (before the 37th week of pregnancy) - but there was also an increase in caesarean sections. Researchers around the world have recently reported a decline in the rate of premature births during the corona period. There is a thought that the change in lifestyle has also led to an improvement in the rate of preterm births. The first evidence began in Scandinavia, where they noticed a decrease in the number of preterm infants. Testimony from the United States and Canada was added later.
