The interventions on the set will be punctuated by exclusive reports in Florence and Rome in places closed to the public, from where the greatest specialists of Michelangelo have agreed to reveal to us part of his mystery: Cristina Acidini, honorary superintendent of museums of the city of Florence and president of the Academy of Drawing Arts;
Maurizio De Luca, Honorary Chief Restorer of the Vatican Museums, who restored the quattrocento frescoes of the Sistine Chapel, and those of the Pauline Chapel, by the hand of Michelangelo, some secrets of which he will reveal, and images never before disseminated;
Timothy Verdon, director of the Opera dell'Duomo museum in Florence, where the Pieta Bandini is currently being restored, filmed for the first time for the general public;
Laurence Aventin, doctor in art history and lecturer guide;
Stefania Tullio Cataldo, art historian specializing in the Italian Renaissance.
We will also go to the Louvre, for a virtual visit with Marc Bormand, curator of the splendid exhibition “
The Body and the Soul, from Donatello to Michelangelo, Sculptures of the Italian Renaissance
”.
And we will end with a decryption of the film
Michelangelo
, by Andreï Konchalovsky, released in theaters in October, which follows the legendary film by Carol Reed,
Ecstasy and Agony
.
