A "pioneer" marriage from the city of Río Grande, in Tierra del Fuego, died within minutes of each other as a result of the coronavirus, local media reported.
They are
Claudio Boyadjian
and
Miriam Muñoz
, 88 and 86 years old, respectively.
The loss of the marriage mourned the Fuegian city, which had great affection for the couple.
As revealed by a friend of the family on social networks, both
"left an hour apart"
, after being admitted to the CEMEP clinic.
"Too sad day with the shocking news of the death of our dear friends Miriam and Claudio Boyadjian, in Rio Grande, by this damn virus. They left an hour apart," said the friend of the couple, who had been together for 53 years.

María Inés Hraste Aguilar added in the letter she published on Facebook: "Perhaps fate wanted it that way so that the one who remains does not suffer. We will always remember them with immense affection for so many beautiful moments shared ... May they rest in peace together. A big hug for your children ".
Local media also told that
both had suffered the loss of one of Miriam's children
, Alexis González, also due to Covid-19, and that both Claudio and his wife would have been infected by contact with a large number of neighbors and acquaintances who came to greet them at that hard moment.
Claudio was French, of Armenian ancestry, and had lived in Argentina since he was 12 years old.
Together with Miriam they had 6 children, 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, details the site El Sureño.
They were also the uncles of former national senator

The man settled in Río Grande in 1958 and a few years later he met what would be his lifelong companion.
He arrived in the Fuegian city after finding a classified ad, while he was in Buenos Aires, in which he was looking for a tailor to work in a renowned house.
Later, because he was fluent in both French and English, he was summoned to work for different oil companies.
He also worked in the electronics industry and ended up working in a broom factory until his retirement.
Miriam was a homemaker and "a great woman," the media reported.

As the publications refer, the couple spent their last years collaborating with all possible solidarity causes in the area.
They were present in each of the cooperators and helped hundreds of neighbors to succeed.
Since the pandemic began, Tierra del Fuego has
accumulated 13,921 cases of coronavirus
, of which 243 occurred in the last 24 hours.
