The lack of infrastructure and the lack of use of Israeli media threatened to cause an outbreak of the corona virus in the Bedouin diaspora.

In light of this, a creative solution was decided for the preservation of community health: guidance and certification of local Corona embassies that make the information accessible and provide residents with tools to deal with the health and economic situation.

In Israel, local authorities are trying to deal with the consequences of the crisis in a variety of ways.

Due to the lack of media use among significant sections of the Bedouin population in Israel, a special project was decided upon - the Corona Embassy.

The project includes the recruitment, training and certification of women for the benefit of the struggle.

These same women are helping to raise awareness within the scattered villages, refine the daily changing guidelines as well as help residents who have been economically affected by the corona crisis.

For this purpose, ten Bedouin women and ten Jewish women were trained in a project initiated by the Jewish-Arab Institute near the Histadrut in Tel Aviv in collaboration with Sami Shoshan of the Periphery and Third Sector.

"This course will save lives"

"Informing and raising awareness is one of the most important tools in reducing morbidity," emphasizes the institute's director, Farouk Amrur. "Those who are in an economic crisis, and of course the tools to deal with the virus from a health point of view," he added.

Silvana Graisi, director of the project, sees another positive angle in the project and in the Corona: "The virus. The interaction between them was great, I have no doubt that this course will save lives and bring women closer together."

Ambassador Kosar Abu Aquider: "This project gives us a lot of tools and information to help our environment. We also deal with the connection between physical and mental health, and how to help people who are stressed and anxious due to the economic crisis.
