"I think this is a nightmare", manages to say Mariela Tacacho (51) with the strength that remains.

He is in Salta, back at his house,

ten days after the crime of his daughter, Paola

.

In Tucumán, the outrage over femicide is so great that it resulted in a debate that runs through all the powers of the State.

For his family,

the pain was devastating

.

In Salta and in Tucumán Paola was also known as Estefanía, by her middle name.

"Pao" or "Estefi" appears in the present, nobody names it in the past.

As untimely was his death as the outrage surrounding his case.

She was 32 years old and was an English teacher.

He was the

victim of systematic harassment by Mauricio Parada Parejas (32).

She suffered it for five years until, on Friday, October 30, he killed her with six stab wounds in the center of San Miguel de Tucumán.

Mauricio Parada Parejas had been her student in 2015, since then he

harassed her in every possible way

.

So much so that Paola made 13 criminal complaints, a civil lawsuit and her family, who also suffered threats, added another four in Salta.

"They laughed at her. At the police station they minimized what Paola was going through. 'Oh, is it on the Internet? Nothing happens', they told her when she was going to report. They minimized the risk my cousin was in.

She got used to living with This fear

did not want to worry us, we did not know everything that was happening ", says Nilda Serpa (33), Paola's cousin.

Nilda lived with her cousin until she went to study for a Bachelor of English at the National University of Tucumán.

"She did not leave the door untouched, she went everywhere.

She was in a real labyrinth of bureaucracy

and she did it alone, without saying anything to her family, only with the help of her friends," Nilda is distressed.

Of the 13 complaints that Paola made, none went to trial.

Despite the fact that she obtained a restriction of approach due to the threats she received, her harasser never respected them and no State agency intervened to protect her.

Francisco Pisa the questioned judge of Tucumán

This lack of response led to a series of

complaints against Judge Francisco Pisa,

in charge of an investigating court that denied that the only cause that advanced (due to the breach of the perimeter) went to trial: it dismissed Parada Parejas and filed The file.

That action earned him

the request of -at least- three political trials that entered the Tucuman legislature.

They have not yet decided if they will make up the jury of prosecution to define their sanction.

It is that to evade those demands, Pisa presented the resignation tied to the approval of his retirement.

Governor Juan Luis Manzur has in his hands the decision to accept that resignation

and allow him to continue in office until the retirement benefit is granted, or to reject it so that the Legislative Power can advance with the Jury and the dismissal.

While that political dispute rages, Pisa continues to serve in office.

March in Tucumán for the murder of Paola Tacacho.

Photo video capture.

The social questioning by the judicial inaction was so great that it resulted in

the Supreme Court of Tucumán ordering an audit

to analyze what happened to each of the 13 files and why they did not advance.

Also what happened to the agencies that denied Paola care.

Although they did not announce any measure or resolve - yet - any sanction,

Clarín

accessed the reports of the

Office for Women of Tucumán (OM)

and the

Office of Domestic Violence (OVD)

, where Paola also attended to ask for help.

In the

OVD they

indicated that Paola Tacacho went to their offices in April 2016 to "consult" regarding the "acts of violence" of which she was a victim.

From their records it appears that they resolved that hers was

"a problem beyond the competence of this office,

so they directed her to file a complaint at the police headquarters."

Why?

Because the violence that Paola suffered from her stalker did not fit within the parameters established "by the Provincial Law No. 7,264" which orders this office to "offer information to people who are experiencing

domestic violence

.

"

Domestic, inside your home, by a relative and not on public roads by a stranger.

So it was so that Paola withdrew

without receiving assistance of any kind

.

"They were death threats. My cousin trusted her lawyer. She trusted the Justice and the offices of attention to victims of gender violence, now, tell me how do you work? That is the gender perspective they have. They created offices, They filled those positions with

people with a zero gender perspective.

It is as if they were not talking about people, lives, victims. They speak as if they were machines: until here I take care of you, go no more, "Nilda is indignant.

The Women's Office also presented its report and said that its functions include "holding different training workshops to

incorporate the Gender Perspective in the Judiciary

."

One of the captures made of the threats in the social networks of Mauricio Parada Parejas against Paola Tacacho.

Thus, they reported that between 2013 and 2020 they held 185 workshops, an average of two per year.

They also recognized that since the province incorporated the Micaela Law, they have done another 17 trainings.

It was in May, after Tucumán - the last province in the country to do so - finally joined.

Paola went to the OM in March 2018 and they reported that despite the fact that "attention to the public is not among the functions entrusted to the OM", the person who attended her contacted the "Center for Assistance in Family Violence of the Ministry of Security in order to find another way for Paola. "

The answer was the same: they

sent her to the police to file a complaint with the Crimes Division.

Those complaints ended in

legal cases that did not advance and everything began again.

"It was

five years of this type of harassment

. Subtle but permanent. He knew all her schedules, everything she did. What she suffered in the end was a mix between minimizing it and a very big denial. She could not put together her project of life here in Tucumán. When she went on a trip she was happy because here she was afraid, "says Marcelo Rodríguez,

a friend of Paola who accompanied her to make the complaints

and who was summoned to testify on several occasions.

Mauricio Parada Parejas used to wait seated for Paula Tacacho, according to the victim's friends.

"I accompanied her to talk to

the murderer's brother

, they knew what he was doing to him. We went to ask them earnestly to help us, not to make a scandal. They have gotten rid of the problem with all this because they did not want to take charge of this sick person in his family ", says Marcelo.

"They got rid of the problem at the cost of my friend's life

.

"

Requests so that the investigation is not closed

On October 24 at 5:35 p.m., six days before she was murdered,

Paola received the last threat that her family knew

.

From a fake email, the young student received an email with an unintelligible but disturbing image.

The last threat that Paola Tacacho received six days before the femicide.

"It was a photo of an asteroid hitting the planet and a message threatening her. She sent it to a lawyer that she hired to help her and she

didn't take the risk seriously either

. No one identified that she was in danger, not even the agencies that know. They would have to be prepared to tell her what to do, how to act. Nothing.

They left her alone,

"Nilda laments.

Through their lawyers, Paola's family requested evidence before the Carlos Sales prosecutor's office, which has the case for the femicide followed by suicide in their hands.

That investigation runs the risk of being closed because the only defendant - at the moment - died

.

In a request presented by the lawyer Valeria Madrazo, the family asked the prosecutor to carry out a search of Mauricio Parada Parejas' home because there could be elements "that indicate that he was able to act with the

help of third parties as participants, instigators or accessories.

" ;

that they seize and analyze the cell phone, mail and electronic devices of the femicide;

and that all "documentation that is of interest to the cause" is seized.

Paola and her friends on several occasions went to the relatives of Parada Parejas to ask for help,

Roland Parada Parejas is a questioned financier from Tucumán,

former contractor of the State, former member of the directive committee of the San Martín de Tucumán club and with

signs that he linked to causes of corruption.

For this reason, the victim's family wants him

to be summoned to testify

, as does the psychiatrist who signed his medical history diagnosing him with "schizoid personality disorder", stating that his pathology was "permanent and irreversible."

The prosecution has not yet given answers about the request, despite the family's claim: "We want

everyone who has to pay for what they did to Paola to pay.

Those who should have taken care of her and those who did nothing to help her, "Nilda asked.
