Prime Minister Netanyahu is expected to continue today (Thursday) discussions on the application of a night curfew in Israel, with the aim of reducing the spread of the corona.

Netanyahu initiated the move, which he heard about from other leaders in the world, in order to allow the third stage of removing the restrictions and releasing the trade planned for Tuesday.

However, since the reduction in morbidity is insufficient, and in fact the state does not meet the set targets, the Prime Minister is looking for alternatives to curb the plague that will not involve harming the economy.

Yesterday, preliminary discussions were held with the Ministry of Health, which at this stage does not support the proposal but also does not oppose it.

Further discussions will be held today.

According to the format now being discussed, the night closure will be Sunday through Thursday.

It will take place between 10 am and 5 am.

On Friday and Saturday, the closure will not apply.

The prime minister's entourage explains that closing at night will prevent illegal celebrations or gatherings, such as weddings or parties.

At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Bnei Gantz called on Netanyahu to convene the Corona Cabinet.

"Netanyahu, we must convene the Corona Cabinet this week and give clear instructions to the public," Ganz wrote on Twitter. "Last week we decided to speed up the closure of red cities and differentiate between green and red cities. "Still. That way we will not be able to improve enforcement and deterrence."

Ganz added that "I therefore demanded a discussion this week that would provide certainty, in which we can discuss the implementation of our decisions to fight disease, and the possibility of opening part of the trade in a partial outline as proposed by the heads of local government and the education system."
