There is an approved outline that will allow the opening of "tourist islands" in hotels in the Dead Sea and Eilat before the official phase of opening hotels around the country as part of the easing of the corona restrictions.

According to the outline, any tourist who arrives at one of the tourist islands will have to undergo corona checks before arrival.

The areas themselves will have restrictions that are mainly social distance, wearing masks and restricting gatherings

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu referred to the progress towards the outline and said: "I would like to congratulate Health Minister Yuli Edelstein, Constitution Committee Chairman Yaakov Asher and Minister Dudi Amsalem whom I asked to convene and bring a solution to the tourist islands in Eilat and the Dead Sea area. Ours, and the preservation of the life and health of the citizens of Israel.

I think an excellent solution has been reached and I want to thank you and tell you that not only the residents of Eilat and the residents of the Dead Sea welcome, all the citizens of Israel welcome you. "

Minister of Tourism, Orit Farkash HaCohen on the Green Tourism Islands Law: "I am glad that we have reached a compromise that puts Israeli citizens and hotel workers ahead of politics. We will pass the law and soon open Eilat and the Dead Sea to tourism."

The Knesset's Constitution Committee yesterday approved for the first reading MK Eitan Ginzburg's private bill (blue and white) on the "Green Tourism Islands" for the opening of hotels in Eilat and the Dead Sea. Health Yuli Edelstein last night withdrew the bill to open hotels in Eilat and the Dead Sea.

The chairman of the Knesset's Constitution Committee, MK Yaakov Asher (Torah Judaism), said at the beginning of the committee's discussion that it would convene to prepare the bill, and that there was no "attempt to dictate any city, that the law is for Eilat and the Dead Sea," "The authorities, if it turns out that there are other places that meet the same conditions. We did not force anything and did not go by force, and it is a pity that they are trying to agitate the residents of Eilat."

Later, MK Asher said that the law could have been passed as early as last week. “This is our role as the Knesset, and the Ministry of Health has also listened and corrected.

We will do our part, we are always ready to hear and we and the government are not on both sides of the barricade. "The plenum intends to bring the law for approval in the second and third readings tomorrow.
