The health regulatory body has authorized the resumption of clinical trials of the Coronavac vaccine against covid-19, developed by the Chinese laboratory Sinovac, after suspending them on Monday arguing that a volunteer suffered "a serious incident." The European Union has signed an agreement with the pharmaceutical company Pfizer and BioNTech on Wednesday to purchase 300 million doses of its vaccine, as confirmed by Stella Kyriakides, European Commissioner for Health. The successful advance of the vaccine opens up hope in the face of a pandemic that has caused more than 51.5 million infections in the world and 1.2 million deaths. In Spain, the Government spokesperson, María Jesús Montero, has announced that it will lower the VAT on masks from 21% to 4%. The measure comes when the opinion about the Executive has worsened for 59.9% of Spaniards due to the coronavirus crisis, according to a study by the Center for Sociological Research (CIS). 47.7% of Spaniards also believe that the work of the media during the pandemic has worsened. The Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, has announced to the councilors of the autonomous communities that Spain will require PCR tests at origin for all travelers who come from risk areas. Germany has reported a new record of deaths in one day from coronavirus since April, 261 people, and 18,847 new infections, according to the Robert Koch Institute.
