When not only demos but also schools become a battleground: mask opponents stir up fears with horror stories

"If you were to order that carbon dioxide be introduced into the classrooms until the children are poisoned, you would be personally liable for this. It is no different with the enforcement of the mask requirement."
At first it was only letters from parents like these that Ralph Meyer, head of a primary school in Cloppenburg, Lower Saxony, had to deal with.
Then came a call from the police.
"A couple of parents reported me for coercion."
Meyer, 59, had not recognized the certificate for their child to be exempt from the mask requirement.
A precise reason was missing, he says.
In addition, several parents have submitted such certificates, some from the same pediatrician, whose practice is around 200 kilometers away.
He does not recognize such certificates.
That is why headmaster Meyer now has to do with the police - and is involuntarily involved in a dispute that could hardly be more bitter.
Mask opponents, including concerned parents and teachers, but also "lateral thinkers", corona deniers, conspiracy theorists, extremists and AfD supporters are increasingly mobilizing against wearing a mouth and nose cover.
For their protest actions they have chosen a new terrain, a new audience targeted.
There are schools, students and parents.
