UEFA has announced that the Nations League match between Romania and Norway, scheduled for tomorrow, has been canceled.
Norwegian authorities have decided to ban the national team's trip to Bucharest due to a Covid case.
"The match cannot be played," wrote the European Football Confederation on its website.
Last Saturday, the Norwegian Minister of Health had ordered the Nordic selection not to go to Romania for the 5th and penultimate day of the tournament.
Right-back Omar Elabdellaoui, who plays in Galatasaray (Turkey), tested positive for Coronavirus yesterday and the government member urged the Federation to respect the quarantine rules, which recommend isolation.
"If the Football Association chooses to operate in a legal gray area, and in particular to undermine one of the most important tools at our disposal to deal with the pandemic, which is that of quarantine after contact with an infected person, then I will react strongly" Bent Hoeie told NRK public television.
