(ANSA) - AGRIGENTO, NOV 14 - The 6-month-old newborn from Guinea was buried in the cemetery of Lampedusa (Ag), who lost his life Wednesday after the shipwreck 30 miles from the Libyan coast.
The small white coffin was buried in the cemetery area where there are already nameless migrants, victims of other sea disasters.
On the ground, in addition to bunches of flowers and candles, a kind of plaque was placed in which the name of the child is written: Ysuf Ali Kanneh, the date and place of birth: 26.04.2020, Libya.
It was built inside the hull of a boat which is surmounted by a rainbow, while the date of death: 11.11.2020 was inserted, with the word Mediterraneo, at the bottom of the sea.
Also attending the small funeral ceremony and the burial of the coffin was the child's mother: a seventeen-year-old.
Also present was the parish priest of the island: Don Carmelo La Magra.
