CROTONE - From today, anyone entering the city of Crotone from the south side will receive a welcome from Rino Gaetano, the singer-songwriter who in the Calabrian city exactly half a century ago, on 29 October 1950.
A panel 9 meters high and almost 8 meters wide with the inscription " Welcome to Crotone where the sky is always bluer "was was placed on the side of one of the buildings of the Aterp houses that you meet along Viale Gandhi at the entrance to the city.
It is a reworking of a famous photo of Rino Gaetano hitchhiking by the advertising graphic Saverio Danese.
The initiative was made possible thanks to the will of a citizen Giovanni Monte, a lover of local history, and the 'San Giorgio Lampanaro' association led by the president Mimmo Ruggiero who thanks to the collaboration and some private individuals (the goldsmith Michele Affidato and Arcuri auto by Antonio Arcuri) who acted as sponsor to create the work on pvc and then have it installed on the wall of the building.
An idea that celebrates the Crotone singer-songwriter, who tragically died in 1980 in a car accident, and also offers an artistic touch to the gray social housing blocks.
