Childish fantasy or real horror? In the Dresden "crime scene", a young witness is at the center who speaks to ghosts. Shivering march with nice shock effects.

The scenario:

I see something that you don't see and that is - death!

After her mother's accidental death, 14-year-old Talia (Hannah Schiller) suffers from parasomnia, a sleep disorder that is accompanied by gloomy visions.

After a murder occurred in her house, the girl became the most important witness of the Dresden team of investigators (Karin Hanczewski, Cornelia Gröschel, Martin Brambach).

But what are Talia's clues worth?

After all, she claims to be haunted by ghosts, the souls of forgotten victims of violence.

The fact that the father draws ghost stories as an illustrator may additionally fuel the imagination of the traumatized witness.

The highlight:

We see something that the police cannot see, and that is - exactly - death!

This "crime scene" episode follows the rules of the horror thriller.

And as befits the genre, the viewer can decide whether he wants to stick to the psychological or the parapsychological reading of the story.

Or both.

Shock moments are priced in either way.

Sleepless: Does Talia (Hannah Schiller) see ghosts?

The picture:

A bloody cut that gapes across the cheek and forehead.

After a night in which Talia had wild visions again, she shows the same wound as the dead mother after the car accident.

The dialogue:

Commissioner Winkler tries to help Talia process her visions.

Winkler: "You are very sensitive, more than other people. And you have already experienced a lot of terrible things, and therefore you see things that are not there. But you don't have to be afraid. That is not real. Do not allow it . This woman is not real. "

Talia: If she hurts me, what's the difference?

The song:

"Another One, Please" by Andy Hopkins and Dean Mahoney.

For this obscure cool jazz number - track seven on the linked sampler - the girl's father draws pictures of ghost figures at night, with which one could wonderfully illustrate Edgar Allan Poe stories.

Strong track, strong scene: a creative in a cold fever frenzy.

The review:

7 out of 10 points.

The "crime scene" maintains contact with the afterlife: after the Münster episode with Professor Boerne hovering between life and death, another dramaturgically well-constructed crime thriller that gets in touch with the dead and under the skin.

Only the finale is overloaded in terms of effects.
