Musician Tal Segev (47) has released five albums, written and produced songs and albums for senior artists (including Sarit Hadad, Eyal Golan and Shlomo Artzi) and is now responsible for a new musical project: "Kolot Shuva".

The project involves repentant women who perform various songs, including well-known singers such as Sharon Rotter and Din Din Aviv.

Today (Monday) the first song from the project, "I do not know anything" performed by Yarat Sara Yaakov

Yirat is a graduate of the "Mizmor" music school and has collaborated with musicians such as Rona Keinan and Yael Dekelbaum.

The lyrics of the song were written by David Monsongo, and the melody is by Segev.

But what about Segev and the converts?

"I'm in it too," he says.

"Ever since I can remember I have been believing in God, talking to the Creator of the world, praying in my own words. In recent years I have become stronger, following the story with my ear."

Segev refers to a rare hearing problem he suffered from that caused him to stop playing music for almost five years.

He made his comeback to music in 2015.

"I was a lot alone with thoughts and getting closer to the Creator of the world," he says.

"What started with the questions 'Why do I deserve this?'

"I grew up in a place where everything is for the best and this is not a cliché. I knew hidden righteous people, I started studying with them. Today we keep Shabbat, God willing, we try very hard to be good people, to be happy, to keep the commandments quietly and modestly. To love."

The decision to do a project with repentant women was made three years ago, when the topic of women’s poetry was very much in question.

"I got to know Rinat Gabay and Eden Harel," says Segev.

"We did not know who would agree, to whom it would fit, so we started slowly, with lyrics written by David Monsongo. One song was composed by Chen Harari, and I composed three. The reactions of the women we approached were very positive. There were of course questions about it, each one has it "Her place in Halacha. It is written in the Torah that we need to do. God created us to do. So we started doing, and we intend to turn to more women. In the meantime, each one gets a song, singles will be released and in the end there will be one album."

You tell everyone, but if you want to perform with the album, it can not be in front of men.

"True, but when you put out a song on YouTube, everyone can listen to it. I want to reach as many people as possible, connect people and fight hearts. We respect each one in what she believes. Each one and her halakhah. We must put all wounds aside and heal them, "Knowing that we are one. It is not good what is happening here and I believe that music has tremendous power for a friend."

How do you get through the corona period?

"I record a lot at home. At first it was less pleasant, but Corona revealed in me behavior patterns that I had to change. For the house it did well, God willing, everything was great. I finished recording an album with eight songs, and the first single will be out really soon. My news. "

David Monsengo is an artist and poet.

"When Tal approached me it was a complete surprise for me," he says, "but the way he started talking about the project - there were lights in his eyes that lit lights in my mind. As if it was clear that it was a meeting meant to take place. For an album that is all about free love. "
