(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 16 - The "lockdown needs" show an increase in the use of the digital channel for food and beverage purchases compared to 2019: according to data from the "The World after Lockdown" Observatory, edited by Nomisma and Crif, 37% of online food shoppers, even after the easing of restrictive measures, increased the trend in digital spending in 2020. From the analysis it emerges that most of the food shopping takes place on the websites of large-scale retailers (channel used by 73% of those who buy food on virtual channels). However - explains the report - the experimentation of other channels driven "by the difficulty in finding available delivery slots or by the lack of coverage of the service in one's own city", among these "pure players (32% who buy food online) and isites / apps of online sales specialized in food & beverage, tested at least once by 13% of those who have made the spesadigital ". It is noted that most users choose the delivery of the purchase directly to their home (78% preferred method), 16% favor the click & collect with collection at the point of sale. It should be noted that lockdown multichanneling has also caused the use of lockers to explode and today 6% of online food shoppers choose to have their online shopping delivered to the nearest self-service cupboards. From the data it appears that 67% of the digital shopping cart is made up of food and beverage products (incidence in value of the total online shopping cart). Finally, among the reasons that lead to choosing online food shopping, there is the possibility of buying 24 hours a day (27%) (ANSA).
