In a message to Israelis who want to fly to Dubai:
The Knesset's Interior Committee today (Monday) approved its recommendation to the Interior Minister to sign an agreement exempt from visas for Israelis with the United Arab Emirates.
However, this is not a final approval.
After approval by the committee, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Population and Immigration Authority will have to approve the agreement in the government, send and receive a letter from the emirates.
Only 30 days later, Israelis will be able to enter the Emirates and residents of the UAE will be able to enter Israel without the need for a visa.
It is important to remember that thousands of Israelis have already purchased flight tickets and vacation packages for the end of November and the beginning of December, dates that according to the agreement, they will not be able to enter the Emirates without a visa.
However, there is a chance that those Israelis will receive special permits, and the Israeli government is now working to expedite processes on the issue.
MK Yulia Malinowski commented on the approval of the expected agreement and said: "It is welcome, but it has consequences.
With other countries there were a lot of problems and people were sent back.
Visa exemption does not mean free entry. "Malinowski further wondered:" How will this work with the Emirates?
What happens if you reach the Emirates and become a suspect?
Or will someone come from there and be a suspect? "The committee's chairman, MK Miki Haimovich, replied that" even those who come from France and have information about him will be questioned. "
During the committee's discussion, the security issue approved by the GSS, the issue of immigration and, among other things, there was a reference to addressing Israeli tourists and certain situations they may encounter during their stay in the Emirates.
