The corona crisis writes the most unbelievable stories: sad, edifying - and that of the cocker spaniel Ralph: The dog from Liverpool in the UK has now gained notoriety because he secretly ate a corona mask and then had to be rescued in an emergency operation.

“He must have stolen the mask from my daughter's pocket that night,” said Ralph's owner, Julie Veidman.

“He always had a thing for socks and sometimes for knickers.

That's why we always keep such things away from him. ”She never thought that her one-year-old dog would eat mouth and nose protection.

Even for the vets from the charity PDSA, who volunteer to help, the incident was unusual: "We were all shocked when we pulled the mask out of him," said Lizzie Whitton.

The mask was not chewed up, it was still whole.

The vets also reported that their free help for sick animals was being used more often than before during the pandemic - for a sad reason: As a result, many people lack money to visit the vet.
