(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 16 - Forty-two years ago Star Wars also had a live action spin-off chapter with animated party inserts on TV (so mocked as to become a cult in its own way), played by the original cast, called StarWars Holiday Special.

Now the universe created by George Lucas proposes again a much more ambitious ad hoc story for the Holidays, which combines the saga with the most famous puppets and bricks in the world through animation (an association created by the thematic line of toys and already launched in CGI with a an animated series and video games).

It's Ken Cunningham's 'Lego Star Wars - ChristmasSpecial' available on Disney + from 17 November.

In the cast of star voices from films such as Kelly Marie Tran (Rose), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) and Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) along with veterans of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series MattLanter (Anakin Skywalker), Tom Kane ( Yoda, Qui-Gon Jinn) and JamesArnold Taylor (Obi-Wan Kenobi).

The 46-minute story, set immediately after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, starts with Rey's decision to go and find, along with BB-8, the key to the galaxy's past that can help her prepare Finn to become a Jedi.

All while his friends (led by a particularly unfortunate Poe Dameron wearing a Party in Space sweater) prepare the big party for their 'Life Day'.

Betrayal, fights and spectacular scenes, thus begins a journey between past and present in the galaxy for the Jedi.

He starts from the 'training' of young Luke Skywalker with Yoda to the meetings with Obi Wan-Kenobi, Anakin and Ian Solo.

However, when the 'villains' Darth Vader and Palpatine also discover the 'portal', a whirlwind of encounters, alliances and clashes of characters that mix in different ages starts.

"Normally you are concerned with the different stories of preserving this extraordinary galaxy so that it remains," executive producer James Waugh explained to Entertainment Weekly. "It was liberating to do it in a way that was fascinating and fun."
