(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 17 - More than 2.5 million children and young people are involved, 13,109 registered schools and 2,577 libraries mobilized and open throughout the country for the 2020 edition of # ioleggoperché, the great social project promoted and coordinated by the Associazione ItalianaEditori-Aie for the creation and strengthening of school libraries, presented on November 17 in an online conference with video messages from the Ministers of Cultural Heritage and Tourism, Dario Franceschini, and of Education, Lucia Azzolina.

Extraordinary numbers of an edition, in the era of the pandemic, with the possibility of remote donations, which opens on 21 November with the passing of the baton from 'Libriamoci', organized by the Center for the book and reading of Mibact, to # ioleggoperché through a joint "communication storm" focused on the respective digital channels on the common message: "A book unites, always".

Until November 29, in the over 2500 bookstores that have joined the project, all Italians will be able to donate a book to a school, choosing a title that they consider inevitable in a school library among those suggested by the institutes or simply according to their preferences.

"# ioleggoperché does not stop, once again at the side of the schools. Now we can, all together, do even more: let's donate a book to schools from 21 to 29 November" underlined the president of the Italian Publishers Association, Ricardo Franco Levi.

And, in the difficult year of Covid on the ioleggoperche.its website it will be possible, exceptionally, to donate even at a distance: around half of the bookstores have in fact reported alternative methods of donation compared to physical entry into the points of sale.
