The son: 'After visiting Usca got worse, now hospitalized at Cotugno. Plasma is needed '(ANSA)

An ordeal that began with the search for an oxygen cylinder, continued with the hunt for a bed in the hospital and which now goes on with the need for plasma for treatment.

It is the one faced by Antonio Palmentieri and his sister for the covid19 that hit their father, Sabato, 67 who is now in sub-intensive therapy at the Cotugno Hospital in Naples.

"I live in Milan - says Antonio Palmentieri - and my father, despite being very careful with precautions, has taken the covid. He is in Casoria and my sister treated him with the treatment of the general practitioner. On November 10, however, the saturation dropped to 88, a cylinder was needed, my father was sick. My sister started looking for it while I was leaving Milan. Upon my arrival I searched for the cylinders for a whole day without results. We had a discharge, I even went to the company to recharge it but they told me that in covid time they don't sell to individuals, they didn't want to help me even though I told them that my father was sick. So I decide to write a post on Facebook to ask for help for a cylinder, the post is shared by many and in less than two hours I have 16 cylinders available. I went to collect five, from a volunteer and then from pharmacies in Salerno, Aversa, Naples. For the others I turned the contacts to those who had my own Problem Everyone has them d

ate with kindness then waiting for the doctor's prescription: in my case a cylinder lasted four hours and therefore for those with a low saturation this recipe is another problem ".

However, the father does not improve and the children call the general practitioner who sends them the Usca.

"Two very young doctors came - explains Antonio - who after the visit suspended the GP's treatment by eliminating Tiklid, Zithromax and Deltacortene, giving him vitamins, saying he would recover. The family doctor was surprised but without those my father got worse. When we called 118, the doctor saw the therapy and said that because of his colleagues the virus was in the lungs ". At that point the hunt for the bed begins:" 118 - continues Palmentieri - takes my father to Villa dei Fiori in Acerra, but the structure is full. They tell us about a place at the Ospedale del Mare but once we arrived it was gone. And the same thing happens in other hospitals. Sister called a very expensive private ambulance with which we went to Cotugno, where after a wait my father was hospitalized ".

Sabato Palmentieri is in sub-intensive care but does not improve with drugs, he needs plasma.

"For this reason we have launched a new appeal to those who are healed to go and donate, we hope well", concludes the son.
