(ANSA) - MILAN, NOV 19 - The City Council of Milan approved, with 25 votes in favor, eight against, four abstentions and two councilors who did not participate in the vote, the Regulation for air quality which, among other things, introduces in the city from 1 January 2021, the ban on smoking outdoors except in isolated places.
From public bus stops to parks, to cemeteries and sports facilities, such as stadiums, smoking will be prohibited within 10 meters of other people.
From 1 January 2025, the smoking ban will be extended to all outdoor public areas.
In addition, the Milanese fuel outlets will have to equip themselves with electric charging infrastructures by the first of January 2023. It is one of the points of the Regulation for air quality approved today by the Municipal Council.
Existing distributors must submit the project by January 1, 2022 and the installation of the columns must take place within 12 months.
In case of technical impossibility, the column must be built in a public area, again by January 1, 2023. (ANSA).
