Apparently, the vaccine will be given in vaccine centers, which may even be set up specifically for this purpose, and the distribution will not be to every clinic and clinic.

This is due to the logistical challenge and the need for special refrigeration and utilization of any vaccine stock opened.

The Director General of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Hezi Levy, met this week with the directors of the four health funds for the first meeting on the subject of preparing for one of the largest and most complex vaccination operations ever.

Four teams will be responsible for preparing the vaccination campaign - a professional team that will outline the vaccination policy and review the scientific evidence, a logistics team, a team that will deal with the method of operation and an information team, which will deal with transmitting information to the public and responding to vaccine opponents.

Later, a project manager will be appointed who will be responsible for the entire operation and will be subordinate to the director general of the ministry.

As part of the preparation for the vaccination campaign, Health Minister Yuli Edelstein requested that the law for the compensation of vaccine victims be updated so that among the vaccines included in it will also be the vaccine for corona.

The law is intended to provide monetary compensation to anyone who claims to have been harmed by a vaccine, subject to the approval of a professional committee.

"The vaccines we will bring are vaccines that will be registered by the regulatory authorities and the FDA, so we call on people when the vaccines arrive - to get vaccinated," says the director general of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Hezi Levy.

We will present vaccines that have tested their origin, effectiveness and safety and that their production procedures are normal.

We work to ensure that the vaccines that land in Israel are effective, safe and meet a very strict standard. "

Disperse risks

He added: "The Ministry of Health is negotiating with several companies with the welcome help and encouragement of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health. We do not specify numbers or the supply regime, because these are business negotiations and there is confidentiality. Discuss with several companies, and I am optimistic "I am optimistic that the biological institute will also provide us with a safe and effective vaccine."

Meanwhile, Prof. Levy referred to the possibility of imposing a closure on Hanukkah and said: "It is possible, the increase in morbidity may lead to further restrictions."

At the same time, a source in the vaccine advisory committee at the Ministry of Health said that "the State of Israel is pursuing two vaccines with the same technology and on a platform that may be amazing, but I do not understand why other large companies working in other technologies have abandoned."

According to the same source, "The technology used by Moderna and Pfizer is a completely new technology, while other companies - and even the Russian vaccine which is a live attenuated vaccine - use a platform that has been used for years and has been vaccinated by billions. That the vaccines will succeed, but that is a big risk. "
