Milagros Abigail Jiménez has been fighting cancer for years.
They detained her with her family on the border between Tucumán and Santiago del Estero, at a police checkpoint in Termas.
The baby had just been treated urgently: she was sore and recently bandaged.
So her father carried her in his arms and
walked like that, with her, three miles.
“The decision I made was because I had to wait a long time.
20 minutes passed, 40 minutes, an hour passed and they gave me no solution.
And she was very desperate.
It was a crisis.
I had no choice but to carry it and carry it ”, said the father, Diego, in an interview with El Trece.
The mother, Carmen, added that currently the girl - 12 years old and fighting the disease since she was seven - is
in pain and anguish
because of what she lived through.
The episode was recorded in a video in which Abigail's crying and her father's discussion with a police officer are heard.
“What he did to her is unforgivable.
He would not let her pass because he asked us for permission to circulate.
And we do not get permission to circulate.
But he told us that we had to have an order to go from Santiago to Tucumán to take my daughter for her treatment, ”Carmen said.
The girl is cared for in the palliative area of the San Miguel del Tucumán Children's Hospital.
“We told her that we were taking her urgently, because she
he was
in pain all night
and he couldn't understand the pain my daughter was having, "Carmen explained.
"He saw her with her leg bandaged and she didn't care about anything. The place was full of bugs, flies. One of those entered her and
made her an infection,
" the woman continued.
Diego added that the colleagues of the police officer, who were at his side, asked him to let them pass.
“They know me, but they didn't even let me pass,” Carmen said.
In dialogue with La Gaceta, the woman said that they walked until a car appeared with a municipal official, who took them to their home.
“Later,
four patrolmen
arrived
at my house
and told us that we could not go out for fifteen days because we had to do the mandatory quarantine.
They're crazy! ”He continued.
Carmen added that, once in Las Termas, she tried to file a complaint at police station 40, but they did not want to receive her claim.
