(ANSA) - The AJA, 22 NOV - The Dutch authorities have slaughtered about 190 thousand chickens following outbreaks of avian flu in at least two farms.
This was announced by the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture.
In particular, 100 thousand hens are slaughtered in a farm in Hekendorp, near Gouda, while 90 thousand chickens in Witmarsum, in the Friesland region in the north of the country.
In both cases, the suspicion of the spread of a "highly contagious form of the H5 variant" prompted action, the ministry specified.
