Latinos like Becky G, Maluma, JLo and more lit the stage at the 2020 American Music Awards and stood out in great categories.

This November 22, the

2020 American Music Awards were held

and Latinos shone at the gala.

From the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, celebrities were awarded for their enormous talent in music.

One of the most emotional moments was when

Becky G

received the award for Favorite Female Artist - Latina.

The victory of the 23-year-old singer made history at the awards, as this year the AMAs included more categories to recognize the great Latin talent.

The one in charge of giving the award to the artist with Mexican roots, who moved with his speech, was

Bad Bunny.

"It all started when my grandfather crossed over, and one day I'm going to be a

crossover

, and it's crazy because today, I still have the same feeling," Becky said.

"Except I don't have to cross because we are the crossing," he added.

"When it comes to me and the decisions I make in my career, I proudly wave both flags, the Mexican and the American. The children and grandchildren of immigrants have seen what sacrifice and hard work look like," he said.

"I dedicate this award to all immigrant workers in this pandemic, immigrant students and families," the interpreter concluded.

Another of the great moments of the night was the incredible performance of

Jennifer Lopez

and

Maluma

, who performed their recent single 'Pa' Ti 'and' Lonley 'for the first time.

López began the performance illuminated by cross-shaped lights that were transformed into prison bars, as in the music video for the second single.

When the stage lights were turned on, Maluma joined her for a dance in which they both exuded sensuality.

The singer wore a black transparent suit, which she uses in her music video and on top of a table she made her hottest movements, while Maluma did her thing.

For his part, the Colombian wore a black striped suit and wore sunglasses to accompany JLo, both closed the presentation with the theme 'Lonely.

Jennifer Lopez and Maluma will be co-stars in the upcoming film 'Marry Me' and the new singles they released will appear on the film's soundtrack.

The 'Dakiti' singer, who was unable to attend the event live, but did so from a video call, received the award for Favorite Album - Latino for 'YHLQMDLG'.

“Thanks to all the people who listen to me, who support me, who always believe in my music.

Latinos control the world.

I love.

I love you ”, were some of the words of the interpreter.

The famous also received at his home the statuette of the AMAs 2020 for being the Favorite Artist - Latino.
