Three months after a fatal traffic accident in Dresden, charges have been brought against the two drivers involved.
A 31-year-old is charged with a prohibited motor vehicle race resulting in death and negligent homicide.
Another 23-year-old is only charged with the race.
The two men are said to have competed on a street leading into town on August 22nd.
The 31-year-old caught a six-year-old boy with his car, the public prosecutor said.
The child was thrown away and died at the scene of the accident.
According to the prosecution, the accident would have been avoidable
The six-year-old had used a path in the grass verge of the road to get home.
The driver of the car caught him at a speed of at least 89 km / h.
According to the investigations of the public prosecutor's office, the accident would have been avoidable if the 31-year-old had kept the maximum speed of 50 km / h.
The man has been in custody since August.
The Dresden Regional Court now decides on the opening of the main proceedings and the admission of the indictment.
