One study examines the health effects of fruit juice.
The findings are promising.
A Franco-German
study is
researching the health effects of
juice
.
Orange juice in
particular contains
many
herbal substances
that
can lower
blood pressure
.
The
results of
the
study so
far
are promising.
Kassel - Over a period of two years, the
Geisenheim University of Applied Sciences is
participating in a Franco-German study that is researching how
herbal remedies work
against
high blood pressure
.
In particular, the question arises as to whether the regular consumption of
orange juice can have a
positive effect on the cardiovascular system.
Many people suffer from
high blood pressure
, which can already be lowered in a simple and natural way.
But can a certain juice also help in the near future?
In
addition to potassium,
orange
juices also contain the
herbal ingredient
hesperidin, which is said to improve the functionality of
blood vessels
.

Fruit drink could lower blood pressure - study examines the effect of juice
According to previous studies, drinking a glass of orange juice could reduce the risk of
stroke
by 24 percent and the risk of
heart disease with circulatory disorders of the blood vessels
by 20 percent.
In the course of the current Franco-German study, healthy but still risk-prone adults receive a small
glass of orange juice
or a placebo drink developed by the University of Geisenheim
every day for six weeks
.
The aim is to determine whether the observed effects on the
subjects
' cardiovascular system are
actually due to the
substances contained
in the
orange juice
.
The results of the study so far are promising.
Study on the effects on blood pressure: Leiter hopes to learn more about juice
The director of the Geisenheim University of Applied Sciences and supervisor of the study, Ralf Schweiggert, hopes that, once the study has been completed, he will be able to better explain why a
balanced diet with fruit and vegetables
has been proven to be healthy.
Since orange juices are generally
criticized
for their
high sugar content
, according to Schweiggert, more research is urgently needed into the health effects.
