In the midst of the 'red zone' due to the coronavirus emergency, Abruzzo is increasingly a 'green region' on the naturalistic front.

From roe deer 'walking' around Pescara to the wolves sighted around Chieti up to the hundreds of cranes flying over the Val di Sangro, in the Chietino area, many reports of the last few hours, with videos and photos that become viral on social networks.

However, sadder news is not lacking.

Due to bad weather and storm surges in the last few hours, nine specimens of turtles and dolphins were found lifeless on the beaches.

In Pescara the presence of one or more roe deer, between yesterday and today, has been reported in different areas of the city.

There is also a video that is making the rounds of social networks: a ungulate runs on the sidewalk of the Riviera, crosses the road and heads towards a green area.

In one case, one of the roe deer got between a hedge and a fence and got stuck.

The Carabinieri Forestali of Pescara, together with veterinary personnel, slightly sedated him and transported him inland, where he was then released in good health.

Among the causes that push ungulates to move to cities could be cold and bad weather.

In Chieti wolves have been spotted in the gullies that descend from the hill towards the Pescara river.

The WWF Chieti-Pescara has collected a series of reports.

"It is comforting to note - affirms the president of the WWF Chieti-Pescara Nicoletta Di Francesco - that the comments accompanying the images are currently all extremely correct: many rightly underline that a wolf is less dangerous for humans than a dog of large size and that its presence represents the only truly effective control system for the wild boar population. "

In Val di Sangro hundreds of cranes fly over the area. This is reported by the Abruzzo Ornithological Station (Soa) onlus." With the arrival of the first cold - says the environmental association - on time cranes arrive in Abruzzo from the north-east of the European continent.

They fly over the region, stopping for a few hours and then resume their journey towards the wintering areas.

In recent years, observations have become more and more frequent, even in flocks of hundreds of individuals. "

The storm winds of the last few hours, finally, have caused strong storm surges with consequent multiple strandings of dolphins and turtles on the Abruzzo coast. the deceased animals: two bottlenose dolphins and seven Caretta caretta. From the early hours of the morning, the volunteers of the Cetacean Studies Center are busy with the surveys. The phenomenon has affected the coasts of the provinces of Pescara, Chieti and Teramo. Two live and extremely debilitated turtles were recovered in Giulianova (Teramo) and transferred to the sea turtle recovery center "L.
