In the morning there were again searches in connection with right-wing extremist chats at the North Rhine-Westphalian police.
This was confirmed by the Duisburg public prosecutor.
Accordingly, these were directed against nine other officials who are charged with sedition and other crimes.
17 objects were searched - including in the cities of Essen, Mülheim an der Ruhr and Velbert.
According to the public prosecutor's office, the nine other officers had been noticed by the evaluation of the items seized during a first search operation in September.
At that time, 34 offices and private apartments were searched and data carriers were backed up.
The background is the allegation that police officers are said to have posted anti-constitutional and seditious content in chats on the WhatsApp messenger service.
The case sparked great outrage.
The other nine police officers are charged with distributing pictures, videos and sound files with content relevant to criminal law.
The "Bild" newspaper had previously reported on it.
According to the public prosecutor's office, these should contain signs of unconstitutional organizations and, in some cases, also contain inflammatory content.
During the new raids, storage media were also confiscated and evaluated.
