(ANSA) - BERLIN, NOVEMBER 24 - The Laendertedeschi ministers-presidents agree on the ban on New Year's Eve barrels in public squares and streets to avoid gatherings of people, while in private citizenship will be invited to enjoy them.
This is what Dpa reports, from a draft of the document that will be discussed tomorrow in the meeting between the ministers-presidents of Laender and Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The draft does not provide for a ban on the sale of New Year's barrels, but merely advises against their use.
The debate on this issue has grown over the past few days, raised by the Social Democrats and the Mayor of Berlin, Michael Mueller.
According to the SPD, a ban is necessary to prevent the formation of gatherings and avoid an overload of work in the hospitals already burdened by Covid-19.
