This is a second round of “impact contracts” that Olivia Grégoire, the Secretary of State for the Social, Solidarity and Responsible Economy, will launch this Tuesday.
Created in Northern Europe and Great Britain about ten years ago, these mechanisms make it possible to finance innovative initiatives on subjects where the State's responses are insufficient.
Concretely, the public authorities enlist the help of project leaders (cooperative, association, traditional company) and funders.

People in the field are more skilled at responding to certain social, economic or environmental problems,
” explains Olivia Grégoire.
Hence the idea of sharing good practices and testing them before considering a wider deployment.
Originality of the device, the projects are subsidized by private or public investors, which the State reimburses a posteriori, if the previously set objectives are well achieved.
