After the knife attack on a 14-year-old in a school in Salzwedel, a girl of the same age has to be remanded in custody.
The student was accused of attempted manslaughter and dangerous physical harm, said a police spokeswoman in Salzwedel on Tuesday.
The motive is unclear.
The 14-year-old is said to have attacked a classmate with a knife in class on Monday afternoon and injured her back.
According to the police spokeswoman, initial interviews with classmates did not reveal any evidence of an argument.
The girl herself has not yet commented on the background.
The injured boy is still receiving medical treatment.
There was no danger to life, said a police spokeswoman.
A similar case had also occurred on Monday in Östringen in the Karlsruhe district.
During the school break, a 13-year-old is said to have stabbed the upper body of a fellow pupil several times with a knife.
According to the police, the injured was out of danger.
The young people had been at odds for a long time, and there was no evidence of a specific motive of the attacker on Tuesday.
