Covid-19: vaccination will not be made compulsory, assures Emmanuel Macron

“I want to be clear: I will not make vaccination compulsory”.

Emmanuel Macron assured him in his speech this Tuesday evening: going to be vaccinated against Covid-19 will be done on a voluntary basis.

Recalling that Europe had already pre-ordered and "secured the number of doses" necessary, the Head of State announced that the first vaccinations would take place "from the end of December, beginning of January".

The "most fragile people" will be concerned as a priority, added Emmanuel Macron, while the High Authority for Health recently launched a major consultation to establish the vaccination strategy in France.

Agreement signed with Moderna this Tuesday

The European Commission announced on Tuesday morning that it had reached an agreement with the American pharmaceutical company Moderna to provide up to 160 million doses.

This is the sixth such agreement signed since last summer.
