Still scared, content and waiting for a new family.
So are the
six-year-old
African twins
who were adopted in 2019 by a couple who abandoned them just over a year later at a Bahía Blanca police station.
The dissemination of the case generated as much indignation and pain as expressions of solidarity and rapprochement with the children.
Since the weekend, the children spend their days in a shelter that is part of the network of the Local Childhood Service of the Bahia Municipality.
There they live with other children and adolescents without a family who are
waiting for a permanent home
, which they will be able to access when Justice resolves their situations.
On Tuesday of last week, a man appeared at the Bahia Women's Police Station and gave "personal reasons" for abandoning the custody of the children.
The legality of the adoption that linked the boys to that man and his partner is being
investigated by the Justice
.
The twins are only known to have entered the country together in August last year from Guinea Bissau, a coastal country in West Africa.
"Did he just leave them and go?"

a source from the Bahia branch.
"That's right," replied the spokeswoman.
He described that the man, when he arrived at the unit located in the downtown area of the city, was holding a boy in each arm.
The process took just a few minutes.
"As soon as the father showed up with the children, we summoned municipal Childhood personnel and they did the shelter measure," explained a source from the Superintendency of Gender that has the Police Station, who excused himself from providing more details for the reservation that governs the treatment by the press of data related to minors.
The couple spent a week with the children in one of the homes of Casa Emanuel in Guinea Bissau.
However, other witnesses described the image as surprising.

The boys attended a nearby school and played basketball.
On social networks, some photos of the family were published.
The woman is dedicated to photography and runs a business linked to the sale of tea, while her partner appears as a representative of a franchise linked to the dissemination and sale of
ecological bags

The family moved to San Martín de los Andres in June of this year.
At the beginning of this year, before the pandemic, the family settled in San Martín de los Andes.
