Mexican media reported the death of singer and actress
Flor Silvestre
at the age of 90.
The death occurred at his El Soyate ranch, located in Zacatecas, Mexico.
Her real name was
Guillermina Jiménez Chabolla
and she was part of the so-called 'Golden Age' of Mexican cinema.
In addition, he had a prolific musical career for which he received the nicknames of 'La Sentimental' and 'La Voz Que Acaricia'.
The musical genres in which he stood out were the ranchero, bolero, and the huapango.
In total he recorded more than 300 songs under the record companies Columbia, RCA Víctor and Musart.
In the 1950s his success was such that he was also known as the 'Alma de la Canción Ranchera' and 'Reina de la Canción Mexicana'.
Among his most memorable songs are: 'Pobre corazón', 'Viejo nopal', 'El mar y la esperanza', 'Celosa', 'Vámonos', among others.
As for her acting career, Flor participated in more than 70 films.
