These are some of the consequences of the Covid pandemic on the health of children according to the Italian Society of Pediatrics (Sip).

"Above all, the most fragile ones pay the price, that is to say the million children with complex chronic diseases who, during the most acute phases of the pandemic, found it impossible to carry out checks, to reach hospitals and often also the clinics of family pediatricians, with negative consequences on a clinical and psychological level ", explained GiovanniCorsello, past president of SIP, speaking at the presentation of the congress" Italian Pediatrics and the SARS-CoV-2 Pandemic ".

On the other hand, on the basis of the latest data provided by the Higher Institute of Health and updated as of November 18, there were 8 deaths for Covid-19 recorded in children and young people from 0 to 19 years from the beginning of the epidemic, compared to over 52,000 recorded deaths among adults.
