In a trial on the abuse complex in Münster, the regional court of the Westphalian city has issued an initial judgment.

A man from Schleswig-Holstein must therefore be imprisoned for three years and three months.

The man from Norderstedt was convicted of serious sexual abuse of a child.

This was announced by a court spokeswoman.

The court thus remained slightly below the demands of the public prosecutor.

The prosecution had pleaded for three years and six months.

The defense attorney had spoken out in favor of an appropriate sentence without specifying a specific sentence.

In order to protect the victims of the abuse complex, the proceedings largely took place in camera.

The court honored the man's extensive confession

The now convicted man had confessed to the crime to the investigators and given information about other accused.

The court took this into account in its sentence, said the spokeswoman.

In the grounds of the verdict, the presiding judge had spoken of a "mild sentence for a serious crime."

The court appreciated the man's extensive confession.

He saved the victim from making a statement.

According to the indictment, the now 53-year-old is said to have sexually abused a then nine-year-old boy in the summer of 2019.

According to the investigation, the victim is the foster son of the main accused in the entire complex.

This 27-year-old man from Münster, accused in his own trial, is said to have made the son of his long-term partner available to other men for sexualized violent crimes and to have raped the child himself again and again.

The public prosecutor's office in Münster alone has so far brought several charges against a total of nine people.

Eight minor victims were counted in these proceedings.

Again and again they came from close family surroundings.

The investigations are running nationwide against a total of at least 20 other suspects.
