In November, Istat estimates a decrease in both the consumer confidence climate index (from 101.7 to 98.1) and the composite index of business confidence which falls from 92.2 to 82.8 " mainly due to the sharp deterioration in market services ".
All components of the climate of consumer confidence are decreasing, albeit "with varying degrees of intensity", explains the Institute. The economic climate and the future climate recorded the greatest decreases, passing, respectively, from 87.2 to 79.3 and from 104.0 to 98.8. The personal climate drops from 106.4 to 104.7 and the current climate decreases from 99.9 to 97.4. Looking at companies, Istat underlines that the worsening of confidence is widespread in all sectors: industry and retail trade register more contained drops while there is a collapse in the index relating to market services. In particular, in the manufacturing sector the index falls from 94.7 to 90.2 and in construction it falls from 142.5 to 136.8. In retail trade the index decreased from 98.9 to 95.2 while in market services it fell from 87.5 to 74.7.
