The Rucola della Piana del Sele becomes a Protected Indication of Origin (Igp) by the EU.
The regulation that enters the product in the European register of quality foods and beverages has been published in the Official Journal.
The protection is recognized for the organoleptic characteristics resulting from a very particular growth environment, both from the point of view of the quality of the soil and from the climatic point of view.
The IGP production area is in the province of Salerno and involves the territories of Eboli, Battaglia, Pontecagnano Faiano, Montecorvino Rovella, Montecorvino Pugliano, Bellizzi and Capaccio - Paestum.
The denomination is added to the 1503 food products already protected by the EU.
