Shocking start in the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Bahrain

The body and the Halo (that sort of fairing that protects the upper part of the passenger compartment) recently introduced by the FIA were probably the elements that allowed Roman Grosjean to survive the terrible accident shortly after the start of the Bahrain GP.
The French driver then managed to get out of the cockpit with great speed and immediately rescued by the track staff.
Everything happened in the very first corners of the circuit, immediately after the start.
While all the pilots passed away without problems in front, the most classic funnel was created in the rear.

A tweet from the team fortunately clarified the conditions of the driver: "Romain has a few small burns to his hands and ankles - we read - but otherwise he's fine. He's with the doctors right now".
However, the pilot will be transported to the hospital to check for breakages.
Grosjean was flown by helicopter to Manama Military Hospital for investigation

At least 45 minutes will be needed to fix the guard rail damaged by the terrible accident.
The Bahrain Grand Prix must end at 19:10 Italian time at the latest.
