She watched the "Mask Singer" finale from home on Saturday.

But Larusso knew since the recording of the show, in July, that she had won the game of TF1.

The 41-year-old singer, performer of the hit “Tu m'oublieras” (1999), tells us how she kept it a secret and why she loved singing disguised as a penguin.

Did you see the final from home?

LARUSSO

.

Yes.

I was overexcited at each

premium

because I was then discovering my benefits.

In the penguin costume, I only saw my feet: I didn't even know if I was in touch with the dancers and the lights…

You had signed a confidentiality agreement before the show.

But who among your relatives knew about it?

My husband, my parents and my press officer, that's it.

With all the others, I bit my lip… As soon as the show started, my friends sent me messages to tell me that they recognized me.

It was hard, but I didn't answer them.

And on the set, how is the secret kept?

Only certain members of the production and those who dressed me knew it was me in the penguin costume.

I arrived at the studio dressed in “Daft Punk”, with a visor, gloves, a “Don't talk to me” sweatshirt

(Editor's note: do not speak to me, in English)

.

And when I was leaving, two other people dressed like me were acting as decoys: they were leaving in different cars and directions.

The production does a monstrous job of keeping it a secret.

Did you know who was hiding under the other costumes?

In the beginning, no.

But as soon as I heard his voice, I recognized Issa Doumbia.

Same for Daniel Lévi, I'm such a fan… But we weren't allowed to talk to each other, even after the shoot.

When did the production offer you to participate in "Mask Singer"?

Before summer.

I was told that my name was mentioned a lot during the first season.

I immediately said yes.

I love to have fun, dance, sing, dress up because I'm a kid… Besides, I had a blast.

And then, people bring me so often back to

You will forget me

that this show allowed me to be listened to.

I wanted to be heard, without being attached to my green eyes, my red nails.

Did you choose the penguin costume?

Yes.

I knew I wanted to be disguised as an animal.

I was shown a catalog with a ton of costumes, and I immediately liked the penguin.

It allowed me to deliver a message: when I chose to interpret “Tous les cis, les SOS”, it was not by chance.

This SOS talks about animals, the environment, humans.

Larusso sang disguised as a penguin, here with the host Camille Combal./TF1/Christophe Chevalin

What was it like to dance and sing in this disguise?

We shot in a heatwave: I was wearing a T-shirt, a balaclava, a turtleneck bodysuit with a false belly, stockings, big pants, fins and a down jacket.

My fingers were burning me so hot.

For the vocals, we recorded everything in the studio: it's impossible to sing in these costumes.

What are your plans after this victory seen by 5.4 million viewers?

First, I savor this victory and the kindness of the investigators, whose kind words touched me so much.

Otherwise, the feedback on my interpretation of "Tous les cis, les SOS" is so rave that the title will be released on Tuesday.

For the rest, we will see… I was not looking for anything other than to have fun and to entertain people with my family in a period which is so hard.

I find that the mission is accomplished.
