For most musicians, a period of many occurrences and scandals is a warning sign.

"When three people tell you you're drunk - go to sleep," says the old saying.

In the case of Miley Cyrus, an entire world seems to be trying to gently hint to her that she is not well.

In recent years, 28-year-old Cyrus has experienced a well-publicized divorce from Liam Hemsworth (after a decade of relationship and eight months of marriage) after betraying him with a woman, having a quick relationship with singer Cody Simpson, archiving two albums and experiencing a fire at her home in Malibu.

All this while she drinks herself to know.

But somehow, it seems that all these upheavals and difficulties actually solidify her artistic identity and make her a better musician.

This is evident in the new album, "Plastic Hearts", which was released over the weekend, three years after she released her latest album.

Cyrus, a great singer who tends to take risks even at the cost of a crash, took a risk on the new album as well, but it seems to be a fairly calculated risk.

In the past year Cyrus has started making rocker voices.

Her excellent cover of Blondie's "Heart of Glass" is already scorching the radio stations, and anyone familiar with her performance of Cranberry's "Zombie" will attest that it is a hoarse, rough voice that is almost created for a guitar environment.

Both of these covers appear as bonuses at the end of the new album, in which the dominant atmosphere is that of distinctly eighties rock.

It is no coincidence that Joan Jet is featured on the album "Bad Karma" (it is difficult to identify which of them sings because their singing style is the same).

Billy Idol, a rock icon from the 80s, also jumps in to visit "Night Crawling".

The two tracks that open the album, "WTF Do I Know" and the theme song, contain guitar solos, not something popular in contemporary pop.

This is Cyrus' bold choice in an age where pop is the king and rock is the embarrassing uncle.

Bold but not crazy.

At a time when the eighties sound is making a comeback, Cyrus simply chose to explore other directions of that glorious decade.

By the way, with all her current predisposition to distortion, Cyrus also does not forget the country she does so well, in excellent songs like "High".

When it comes to dance, she does it perhaps best of all in "Midnight Sky" which has already become a huge hit, or in "Prisoner" which she wrote and sang along with Doa Lipa.

In short, fans of the '80s will find a variety of familiar angles here (including a cover photo taken by Mick Rock, signed with photos of Debbie Harry, Kevin, David Bowie and who is not actually).

This is how it is when the name of one, Mark Ronson, stands out among the producers of the album.

By the age of 28, Cyrus had made a name for herself as a Disney star, experiencing a defiant provocative phase (which made networking a familiar term in every home), experimenting with psychedelic music and consoling herself in the country districts.

It is not easy to grow up in general, and to do so in front of the whole world, when you are a TV star at the age of 14, it is even more complex and painful.

Amidst all the madness, Cyrus has not become a “star girl” cliché or a tragic case like Britney Spears.

Surprisingly she has become a respected artist who is believed.

Fans are talking about the lyrics of the songs on the new album, which are hard not to interpret as a clear reference to parting ways with Masworth.

There are lines like "I moved on and I do not even miss you" and "If you are looking for something stable - it will not be me in life".

For Cyrus, a kind of musical chameleon, this is an accurate statement.
