(ANSA) - CAGLIARI, NOVEMBER 30 - The Assize Court of Appeal of Sassari confirmed the sentence to 30 years in prison for Marcello Tilloca, the man accused of strangling and killing ex-wife Michela Fiori on December 23 two years ago in Alghero. Tilloca, confessed, had benefited in the first step from the discount of a third of the sentence because he was judged with the abbreviated rite. The judges awarded compensation to the civil parties: the mother, grandmother and brother of the victim and the association Rete delle donne di Alghero. It was they who welcomed the confirmation of the sentence with applause. (HANDLE).
