The Prix Goncourt 2020, the most prestigious of the French literary awards, was awarded to the writer Hervé Le Tellier for 'L'Anomalie'.
The other finalists were 'Les Impatientes' by Djaili Amadou Amal, 'Thèsée, sa vie nouvelle', by Camille de Toledo, and 'L'Historiographe du Royaume', by Mael Renouard.
Published by the publisher Gallimard, Le Tellier's novel - which deals with an event that is difficult to explain and which we insist on explaining - was the one favored by critics and has already convinced an important slice of the public.
The novel will be released in Italy in February 2021, published by La nave di Teseo in the translation by Anna D'Elia.
Author of novels, short stories, poems, theater, Le Tellier, 63, is trained as a mathematician and former journalist.
He is also president of the Oulipo association (Ouvroir de littérature potentielle).
He got eight votes in favor to two votes for Mael Renouard's Historiographe du royaume '.
