The Magen Israel directorate for the fight against the corona plague, and the leadership of the Arab sector and the Arab local authorities, mark the latent disease as the main reason for the dizzying rate of increase in cases of infection and high morbidity in the sector.

According to sources in the administration, disagreements have recently arisen between the incoming corona projector, Prof. Nachman Ash, and the corona commissioner in the Arab sector, Ayman Saif.

A senior official in the administration told Israel Today: "It looks more like ideological and unprofessional disagreements.

The gaps between the two senior executives do not help the fight against latent morbidity in Arab society and its containment. " In the covert morbidity, among other things through the reinforcement of information efforts in the Arabic language - both in the general Arab sector and among the Druze community and the Bedouin community.

Recently, 10 women from the Bedouin diaspora who serve as the "Embassy of the Corona" in the diaspora were trained at the Arab-Jewish Institute near the Histadrut, helping to explain how to avoid infection, and the importance of performing medical tests to amputate the infection chains.

Also, one of the proposals being considered to incentivize the residents of the Arab localities to come and be tested at the "check and travel" stations located around the country, is to transfer financial grants to the Arab authorities for each resident who comes to be tested.

A senior member of the Arab sector leadership told Israel Today: "After the mass weddings that have taken place in recent months, and the vacation packages to Turkey that have caused a sharp rise in the rate of infection in Arab society compared to the relative number of Arabs in the population, our next struggle is in high mortality in Arab society." "Voluntary among the Arab sector. There is no shortage of test stations operating in Arab localities and authorities, there is no need for a referral or commitment, you just have to come and be tested, and still the number of respondents is very low, and there is no response from Arab society to come and be tested."

"Afraid of locksmiths"

The senior official explained that the high latent morbidity in the Arab sector is mainly due to the family-community nature in the Arab localities.

"Some people are not going to be tested due to the fear that if they are found positive, many family members will be placed in isolation, and due to the clan nature of many Arab localities, there is a very reasonable possibility that a small number of verified subjects may define the locality as red and even quarantine." "As a leadership, we, together with the heads of the Arab authorities, the Ministry of Health and the relevant government bodies, have the challenge to curb the phenomenon of covert morbidity."

"We are at the beginning of winter. Events and weddings held outside will be moved to closed areas," the source added. "Mass infection in the sector will not stop and will even worsen if we do not take immediate steps."

The senior official referred to the proposals made to curb the hidden morbidity in the sector and said: "These are point-by-point measures that will not suffice. The proposal to incentivize Arab local authorities is still just an idea.
