In a calendar of releases distorted by the pandemic and the closure of cinemas, doubts dominate the films of the Holidays, the expectation of the new anticovid measures and the increasingly frequent way out of platforms.

A destiny that also affects our 'cinepanettoni', a term born to indicate the classic Italian farcical comedies of Christmas release.

A decades-long trend (starting with the cult signed Vanzina Vacanze di Natale in 1983, with annual regularity at least until 2011), marked by the first fixed places in the takings (the most viewed, Christmas on the Nile of 2002 remains with over 28 million euros ) and as absolute protagonists, together but also separated, Christian De Sica and Massimo Boldi, back as a couple again this year for Christmas on Mars.

With the arrival on the scene, however, of Checco Zalone and his absolute box office records, the cinepanettoni in recent years have changed and enriched the recipe more and more, to include in the term the Italian comedies in various shades of the Holidays.

Without forgetting that more and more often the focus is on great Italian films of other genres from Pre-Christmas to Befana, such as Pinocchio in 2019 or this year the highly anticipated Freaks out by Gabriele Mainetti (whose official release is still on December 16, but it is difficult to think that it will be confirmed) and Diabolik by Manetti Bros (debut so far scheduled for December 31st).

Coming to the comedies, he started the platform 10 days with Santa Claus by Alessandro Genovesi, with Fabio De Luigi, Valentina Lodovini and the new entry Diego Abatantuono, debuting on December 4 on Amazon Prime video (it should have arrived in the hall on 16 ).

The comedy is the sequel to the blockbuster 10 Days Without A Mom, which had earned over 7,500,000 euros at the box office in 2019.

However, there are still no official release dates or news of any migrations on the platform, for the other two Italian comedies of the Feasts, Io sono Babbo Natale by Edoardo Falcone with Gigi Proietti, here at his latest interpretation, and Marco Giallini ( the debut was scheduled for December 3) and Natale su Marte by Neri Parenti (release date indicated at the beginning on December 17), set on the red planet in 2050, with Christian De Sica as Massimo Boldi's father.

Instead, they are born as Sky Original and will debut directly on Sky Movie, in prime time the new titles by Luca Miniero and Giovanni Veronesi.

On 14 and 21 December, the action comedy will be the protagonist in prime time in two events Cops - A gang of policemen by Luca Miniero, with, among others, Claudio Bisio, Stefania Rocca, Pietro Sermonti, Francesco Mandelli, Dino Abbrescia and Giulia Bevilacqua.

At the center of the plot a team of policemen who launches a crazy enterprise to avoid the closure of their police station.

On Christmas day on Sky Cinema, Giovanni Veronesi's Tutti per 1 - 1 per Tutti 'will debut on the new adventure of his Musketeers (two years after the first film) played by Pierfrancesco Favino, Valerio Mastandrea and Rocco Papaleo, with Margherita Buy who returns as Queen Anne of Austria.

"I am very proud of this film, I think that the Christmas period is the perfect setting for family fun - said Veronesi, commenting on the debut on Sky -. It is a film to watch and live together. With the wish of a Christmas I really hope more serene, on my part and my wonderful Musketeers ".
