"Night curfew still being considered"
Meanwhile, "I do not think we are at the beginning of a third wave," Prof. Itamar Grotto, deputy director general of the Ministry of Health, told the GLC.
This is in contrast to the words of the acting head of public health services, Dr. Sharon Elrai-Price, who said yesterday that "we are at the beginning of the third wave."
She said, "For the first time in more than a month, we passed the 1,200 verified. We also have a daily average of 982, when we left the quarantine was less than 600. The infection rate is constantly rising and stands at 1.17 and we do not know the effect of opening trade and studies. Then another increase is expected.
"At the traffic light, we see an increase in the number of orange and red settlements, with more than 90 settlements in the aggravation trend. If we look at how we started the second wave - as a green country, and red spots expanding, we see an increase in morbidity, and this is the beginning of the third wave. Smaller than we were in August, but the coefficient of infection in the same place.
"Regarding the night curfew on holidays - it's still in discussions with other ideas to prevent the images we do not want to see. I want to mention that the sampling in Israel is gentle and easy to do. I call on all citizens, not just those with symptoms, to get tested," she concluded.
