(ANSA) - NEW YORK, DEC 1 - A maxi stimulus plan to help Americans and the economy overwhelmed by Covid-19 from January.
Joe Biden is working on defining the aid program, which will be accompanied in the first 100 days by a wave of presidential decrees to advance his priorities, such as containing the pandemic and fighting racial inequality.
On the stimulus front, work is being done on the system of maneuvering, the extent of which however depends on the outcome of the elections for the Senate in Georgia. Should the Democrats win, Biden could venture an ambitious stimulus plan. If the Republicans retained control of the Senate instead, the president-elect would have to settle for a more contented initiative in the knowledge that the conservative majority would not approve the allocation of thousands of billion dollars more.
