Thinker Butler: Quite a lot of world change

It's just one small letter, but it makes all the difference.
For two years now, anyone who has applied for a new passport as a citizen of the Federal Republic of Germany has three options to choose from when it comes to specifying their gender: m / f / x.
Male, female and indefinite, diverse.
The Federal Constitutional Court ruled that an intersex person who had been assigned to the female gender as a child, but who could conclusively prove to the court that their chromosome analysis did not clearly show whether they were male or female, had sued.
For a long time, intersex people were forced to identify themselves as male or female, but after the law was amended in 2013, they had the option of simply leaving out the information.
But that led to problems at various national borders.
There are apparently a number of countries that you are not allowed to enter without a documented gender.
The child must have a name: This is what the "x" stands for.
Since then, you can choose between m / f / d in your birth certificate.
Germans no longer exist only as men and women, but also beyond them.
A revolution.
